Earlier, Tim preached on why we should study the Old Testament. We see that it is profitable for us as explained in 2 Timothy 3:16, and it is written for our instruction. In Joshua 2, we look at Rahab and the Israelite spies that were sent into the promised land by Joshua. We can see clearly Rahab’s acknowledgement of the LORD as the one true God, and her genuine faith and asking for protection and mercy from God. This is also spoken about in Hebrews 11:31, where it is said that “By faith, Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.” Listen to Tim’s sermon on Joshua 2 and how he talks about how God shows His justice and mercy in this passage of scripture.
